Getting started: creating your artist account

Last updated 1 June 2026

BuyMyTune lets independent artists sell music directly to fans — no label required. Here's how to get set up.

Step 1 — Sign up

Head to buymytune.co.uk and click Sign In in the top right corner. You can sign up with Google or with an email address and password. Either works fine.

Step 2 — Start the artist onboarding

Once you're signed in, go to /onboarding/artist. You'll be asked for:

  • Your artist name — the name fans will see on your profile and releases.
  • A short bio — tell people who you are and what kind of music you make. A couple of sentences is fine.
  • Genre tags — these help fans discover your music in Browse.

Step 3 — Set up your profile

After onboarding you'll land in your Artist Dashboard. Before you upload your first release, it's worth spending a few minutes on your public profile:

  • Add a profile photo or hero image from the *Customize Page* section.
  • Write a tagline — one punchy line that sums up your sound.
  • Add links to your social accounts.

Your public page lives at buymytune.co.uk/your-artist-name.

Common questions

I signed up with the wrong email. Contact us via /contact and we'll help you merge accounts or switch your login method.

My artist name is already taken. We'll generate a unique URL slug for you automatically. You can change your display name any time from Dashboard → Settings.

I don't see the artist onboarding option. Make sure you're signed in. If the page still isn't showing, try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R).
