You set the price. BuyMyTune takes a small platform fee and passes the rest straight to you.
How pricing works
Prices on BuyMyTune are in GBP (£) and include UK VAT (20%) where applicable. The price you set is the price fans pay at checkout — no hidden extras.
When you set a price, we'll show you an estimated earnings figure so you know exactly what you'll receive after platform fee and VAT.
Suggested price ranges
| Release type | Typical range |
| --- | --- |
| Single (1 track) | £1.99 – £3.99 |
| EP (2–4 tracks) | £3.99 – £6.99 |
| Album (5+ tracks) | £6.99 – £9.99 |
These are suggestions, not limits. You can price higher or lower — some artists offer free downloads, others charge a premium for limited releases.
Setting the price
During the upload flow, you'll see a Price field. Enter the amount in pounds. You can update the price at any time from Dashboard → My Releases → Edit.
Free downloads
Set the price to £0.00 to offer a free download. Fans will still add it to their cart and go through checkout, but they won't be charged.
Common questions
Can I change the price after people have already bought it? Yes. Existing purchases aren't affected — anyone who already bought it keeps their download at the price they paid.
Why does my earnings estimate look lower than the price? The platform fee is deducted from the net amount, and VAT is accounted for. See Understanding your payout for the full breakdown.
Can I set different prices for different territories? Not yet — pricing is global and in GBP for now.
